About Pride Travel

Your LGBT Boutique Travel Agency and Blog

I took my first adult trip sans parents to New York CIty with the intention of Partying like it’s 1999, since it was.  Having just turned 21 and growing up in the upper Midwest I got an eyeful, earful and an amazing introduction to travel that showed me what I could do and see when I got out of Minnesota for a few days.  Some 20 years later, the same holds true.  The trips have gotten bigger and more outrageous and that passport of mine is ending up with more stamps by the year; but the love of exploration has never left me.

Since then I have added a few additional aspect to help appreciate my love of travel and exploration.  Many years back as I first began traveling alone I came the notice that there was a distinct voice missing, and as I have aged it has continued to remain absent.  That is the voice of the Black Gay Male Traveler, and as I rapidly approach that new box and demographic on most surveys and notice that my stomach is a little rounder and my face is a little fuller, the added silence from the Bear Market for a traveler of color is startling.  Many years ago, when Tumblr was cool and new.  I started a Tumblr Blog to discuss my upcoming trip to London for Pride.  Now some years later, I have come full circle.  Adding a blog to my travel page and planning service for Travel in Pride, a boutigue Travel Agency for the LGBT Community and planning another trip to London, this time with Family and Friends.

In the last years, I have got to take in and see some of the amazing monuments and cultures in countries all over the world.  I have experience the Wat Pho in Bangkok, the Plaza de Revolucion in Havana and of course Sugar Loaf Mountain in Rio.  And one thing that has always been with me through each trip is my unique perspective on travel and the world, as well as of course a Camera to document my experiences.   As well as a distinct attempt to try to live and breathe each countries LGBTQ Community; to see what the locals and members experience.  That includes visiting the Gallery Lounge when it was open on Curacao, which was the only “Gay” Bar on the island, as well as stopping by Gay Beaches in Havana, Rio de Janeiro and Phuket.
