I Built Pride Scout So You Don’t Have to Open 27 Tabs to Plan One Trip
If you’ve ever planned a Pride trip, you already know the drill.
One tab for flights.
Another for hotels.
Three more for bars.
Instagram to check if the event is even real this year.
Google to confirm dates.
Then Reddit to make sure the hotel is actually LGBTQ friendly.
By the time you book anything, you’re tired.
That’s exactly why I built Pride Scout.
I travel a lot. I plan a lot. I love the research part. But I also know most people do not want to spend hours bouncing between websites just to feel safe and excited about a trip. So I created an app that keeps everything in one place.
And yes, it’s completely free.
No subscription.
No monthly fee.
Just your next Pride trip planned better.
What Pride Scout Actually Does
At its core, Pride Scout lets you search by:
- Destination
- Region
- LGBTQ Events
- Travel Dates
If you’re not sure where you want to go, you can browse by region. Europe. North America. Asia. Caribbean. If you know you want Pride in June but do not care where, you can filter by events around your travel dates.
And once you pick a destination, you are not just getting a name on a screen. You get:
- LGBTQ accepting hotels
- Bars and nightlife
- Restaurants
- Pride events
- Bear events
- Fetish events
- LGBTQ cruises
Everything organized in one place so you are not guessing.
Built for the Novice Traveler and the Power Planner
I built this as someone who plans trips like a second job. But I also built it for someone who has never left the country before.
If you are new to LGBTQ travel, Pride Scout makes it simple.
You can see:
- What events are happening during your travel dates
- Which hotels are known to be welcoming
- What nightlife exists without digging through reviews
- What cruises are sailing
And if you are more experienced like me, the app saves you time.
Instead of typing the same searches over and over, Pride Scout gives you the organized starting point.
Flight Pricing Without the Guesswork
Inside the app, you can see estimated flight pricing for your destination and travel dates. Once you are ready to book, Pride Scout links you directly to:
- Skyscanner
- Google Travel
I did not want to reinvent flight search. I wanted to make it easier to get there.
So you research in Pride Scout, then you jump directly into booking through trusted platforms.
Same with hotels. Same with tours through Viator.
Everything connects out, but the research stays organized inside the app.
Bars, Events, and Cruises Without Hunting
Let’s be honest. Finding LGBTQ bars in a new city can be messy.
Some websites are outdated. Some events have moved. Some pages have not been updated in years.
Pride Scout links directly to:
- GayCities for bar info
- Official event websites or verified Google searches
- Direct booking pages for LGBTQ cruises
That means you are not relying on one random blog post from 2018.
You get the link. You click. You verify. You book.
Simple.
Save Trips. Add Notes. Share with Friends.
This part matters more than people think.
You can:
- Save a trip you are considering
- Add notes like “Hotel looks good but check cancellation policy”
- Email trip details directly to friends or family
If you are planning with a group, this keeps everyone on the same page.
No more sending screenshots through five text threads.
No more forgetting the name of the hotel you liked.
It’s all saved inside your trip plan.
Weather Estimates So You Are Not Surprised
One thing I always check when planning is weather. Not just average temperature, but what it will feel like during that season.
Pride Scout provides weather estimates based on:
- Destination
- Time of year
So if you are planning Amsterdam Pride, you get a realistic sense of what August looks like. If you are planning Sydney Mardi Gras, you understand you are dealing with summer.
It’s a small detail that saves you from packing wrong.
No Subscriptions. No Paywalls.
Let me say this clearly.
Pride Scout is free.
No subscription.
No monthly membership.
No hidden unlock.
I built it because I believe LGBTQ travelers deserve a central planning tool that does not charge them to feel safe and organized.
You download it. You use it. You plan your trip.
That’s it.
Why I’m Looking for Beta Testers
Right now we are in beta testing.
That means the app works, but I want real travelers using it. I want feedback. I want to know what feels smooth and what feels clunky. I want to know what destinations you wish were easier to search.
If you travel for:
- Pride
- Bear events
- Fetish weekends
- LGBTQ cruises
- Or just want LGBTQ friendly destinations
I want you in this phase.
Beta users help shape what this becomes.
And because it is free, there is no risk to you. You are not committing to anything. You are helping build something useful for the community.
